Are You My Zodiac Sign?
Not-Yet visits each keeper in turn. Nobody answers yes or no. Each one offers a way of being instead: You can be a Taurus.
Two books · One little light
Not-Yet hasn't picked a birthday. So the little soul walks the Great Circle, past twelve slides and their twelve keepers, asking each one the same question: Are you my zodiac sign?

The Great Circle
Here and there, far beyond seeing, the road changed. There was grass on it.
Stone.
Rain.
Snow.
A piece of sea.
At each stands a slide, and at each slide a keeper who has always been there. The keepers can't go down. Not-Yet can. Whichever slide Not-Yet chooses, that day becomes a birthday.
“Do I have a name?” asked the little light.
“Not yet.”
“That sounds rather like a name.”
“So it does.”
The Books
A picture book to read aloud at bedtime, and a longer illustrated chapter book for readers who want to walk the whole road with Not-Yet.

The chapter book
The long way round. A Ram who pushes stones, a Bull who plants a pear, a Scorpion with a lamp in a cave. Twelve keepers, twelve small gifts, and one choice at the end.
